This is the last post in our series highlighting people working to make the world a better place. Tri Robinson’s church in Boise, Idaho is known worldwide for its “Let’s Tend the Garden” program. In fact, Tri had just returned the night before our time together from a trip to Windsor Castle at Prince Phillip’s request! It’s refreshing to see a church caring for the environment.
What has been your experience with environmentalism in Christianity?

Tri Robinson is the Senior Pastor of Vineyard Boise and blogs about sustainable living at Timber Butte Homestead.

I am a daily user of wilderness and think Tri’s approach is creative and godly. I heard a talk show host talking about global warming last week and he declared (as if that makes it true) that God cared too much about what He created to let anything bad happen to it. He missed the we-get-to-care-for-it piece. Good/God work and nicely put together Craig.
I really appreciate the attention that you’ve given this topic Craig. I am greatly encouraged to know that people like Tri Robinson and his Boise church are doing such important work and offering the rest of us the opportunity to WAKE UP and help.
I find it telling to see the contrast between the topics of “tree hugging/earth care and homosexuality here at Recycle Your Faith. The disparity of comments generated is really interesting. However, I am pretty sure that if some of the commenters on Kathy’s video clips, showed up over here…they would not have anything much more helpful or encouraging to say regarding how God intends to deal with our little blue planet…after he’s done burning all the homosexuals up in hell.
The condition of our planet is so emportant…the way we live in our communities matters…It makes me sad that so many people seem far more engaged in condemning the sex lives of their fellow humans…and lobbing rediculously shallow biblical arguments at eachother…than caring for God’s good earth.
