Here are some answers to some common questions about Recycle Your Faith:
ABOUT RECYCLE YOUR FAITH (RYF)
What is Recycle Your Faith?
Recycle Your Faith (RYF) is kinda hard to describe, but the about page should give you a pretty good idea.
Who creates the videos for RYF?
Craig Spinks currently produces the clips, but plans include inviting other contributors in the future.
Who is Craig Spinks?
Craig is the owner of Quadrid Productions, a video production company that specializes in work with faith-based non-profit organizations. Since 2000 he has worked with organizations such as Focus on the Family, Henry Cloud, Group Publishing, Family Research Counsel, Compassion International, Billy Graham Mission, among many others. Recycle Your Faith was created as an outlet for Craig’s passion for asking tough questions and encouraging the idea of looking at faith as a process and not a destination. Craig has also co-written a book with Jim Henderson and Todd Hunter called The Outsider Interviews.
What birthed the idea for RYF?
For 6 years Craig was a part of a small group that was a safe place to talk about questions in faith. Various perspectives were shared and at times the conversations got heated, but it was always safe. Craig wanted to capture these same values for a larger audience.
Why do the videos have a comments section?
We hope to create an atmosphere on Recycle Your Faith where various points of view are welcomed and we can all learn from each other. Equally important, we want the comments to reflect dialogue rather than debate, so we’ve set up a few general guidelines for comments called “Dialogue, not Debate”.
Who can I ask if I have any questions?
If you have any problems or questions about the site, please let us know! Fill out this online form and we’ll get back to you shortly.
Clips are not playing smoothly on my computer, what should I do?
If you are experiencing “stuttering” in the playback of a clip, you may need to wait for the clip to load entirely. A grey progress bar beside the play button will show when a clip has been loaded.
CLIP USAGE AND PURCHASING
Where can I use RYF Clips?
Clips on recycleyourfaith.com are available to watch for personal use for free, but we ask that if you are using the clips in a small group, church, classroom, or any other public setting that you’d purchase the clip in The RYF Store before using it. Thanks!
Can I purchase a DVD of RYF clips?
Right now the only option for purchasing clips is by downloading them, however we will be releasing DVDs in the future as more clips are produced.
BEHIND THE SCENES
How is RYF funded?
RYF is funded through the sales of individual clips in The RYF Store. While clips can be viewed for free at recycleyourfaith.com, we ask that if you are going to use a clip in a small group or church that you would first purchase it in our download store.
Do you have a statement of faith?
While statements of faith are surely helpful in some settings, we’ve found that they are often used to determine who is “in” and who is “out”. We want to create an atmosphere where everyone is “in” on Recycle Your Faith, so we don’t have statement of faith.
Do you accept ideas for clips?
Certainly! Use the contact page to let us know your idea!
